Felipe Ventura is a tech editor and writer with over 10 years of experience.

Work

I began my career in 2009 as a technology reporter for Gizmodo Brasil; I was promoted to assistant editor in 2012. I worked for Tecnoblog – Brazil’s leading independent tech outlet – from 2017 to 2023. I started out as a news editor and then became the content editor, coordinating a team of assistant editors focused on SEO posts and news articles.

Highlights

Here’s what I’ve been doing over these 10+ years:

More about me

I attended the University of São Paulo – one of Brazil’s top universities – to study Economics, which might help explain why I’m so interested in fintechs, crypto, big tech financials, and more.

I chose the felipeventura.online domain because it was the most affordable one with my name on it; also, I’m hosting this website on a free service. I’m a bit of a cheapskate, so that tracks!

This slight stinginess inspired me to write a few explainers, such as how to get a refund for PlayStation Store purchases, and how to install Windows 11 on a Mac without spending $100/year on Parallels.

I also like to help readers – for instance, by making sure they get better customer service from Asus, Nubank (one of the world’s largest neobanks), Itaú (the largest banking institution in Latin America), and other companies.

Awards?😅
